When you listen to Republicans in Washington you get the impression that they think Christine Ford’s sexual assault allegations against Brett Kavanaugh are no big deal.
The conventional wisdom is that Ford’s charges from 35 years ago are just a small bump in the road as Kavanaugh’s confirmation steamrolls ahead. Everyone in the GOP seems to be saying that the right-wing judge will be approved by the Senate so he can take his rightful place on the Supreme Court in October.
A newspaper in Silicon Valley, California is reporting this morning that a close friend of Christine Blasey Ford claims she told her about her sexual assault in 2017 after her friend went public about her own rape in a Facebook post.
Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who has accused Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her, wants to tell her story under oath. Her attorney said she is willing to speak directly to U.S. Senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee and let them ask her questions so that their doubts can be allayed and their curiosity can be satisfied.
