Conservative Christians despise atheism as being a subjective form of morality, ignoring the history of their own subjective belief system
This Christmas is shaping up like every other year's end since President Obama has been in office, with Republicans holding the economy hostage over the level of damage they can inflict.
Conservatives are dreaming of a 'white' Christmas, and that is all Christmas really is to them: a means to an end that has no role for Jesus
“All I want for Christmas is to kill it,” seems to be the song conservatives think liberals sing each and every holiday season. Fox News has made a lucrative living pushing a nonexistent war on Christmas, seizing on every example of religious pluralism in this country – that is, the right of people to believe whatever they wish, including nothing at all – and making it seem anti-Christian.
It is that season again - and no, I am not talking about Christmas. I am talking about the War on Christmas, which is a far more important season to religious conservatives.
Yes, I know it’s a surprise. Fundamentalist Christians hate Islam and well…fundamentalist Muslims hate Christianity. We have seen this dynamic at work in the United States since 2001 and with renewed vigor over the past two years. It’s as if a perpetual state of Jihad/Crusade exists in the minds of extremists at both ends, leaving the rest of us to grow dizzy from the salvos fired past our heads.
Each holiday season the Christofascists come looking for bogeymen to accuse so they can play the seasonal victim, repeating their meme a war on Christmas.
