Ultra-conservative former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum was not happy or impressed with President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, according to comments he made afterwards on CNN. According to Santorum, Trump’s pick of Kavanaugh was not going to go over well in conservative circles. He said that the choice the president made proves that instead of giving in to conservatives he “bowed to the elite in Washington.”
Donald Trump is behaving like a man who knows his time is short. He got his wish of a retirement from his pal Justice Anthony Kennedy and now it is being reported that he will announce his replacement pick by July 11th. Clearly this is a man in a hurry.
Back in February we reported that “Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT), the ranking member on the Senate Budget Committee, exploded with rage after Trump released a budget that slashes trillions of dollars from Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security disability after he gave a massive tax cut to the wealthy and corporations.”
Sen. Corey Booker (D-NJ) pointed to an alarming trend in President-elect Trump's staff picks. Booker said that Trump is staff his administration with people who degrade and demean Americans, promote dangerous fringe ideologies, and threaten Americans' rights.
"America at our best, we stand up to bullies and we fight those who seek to demean and degrade other Americans. Even in times of crisis, we don’t abandon our values, we double-down on them."
