Yesterday, without his trusty TelePrompTer, President Barack Obama walked in to the GOP dragon’s den, made his plea and statement to the Republican Party, and then basically said “bring it on”, I’m ready for you! It was masterful. Republican House leaders were schooled by a wise and powerful leader.
President Obama took up the House Republican leadership’s invitation to speak at their annual retreat yesterday where he deftly batted away every GOP talking point and made the Republicans wish that they have never allowed cameras to film the gathering. Obama called out the Republicans for being all tactics with no problem solving.
2009 began with the inauguration of our new and first African American President, Barack Obama, and became the year that GOP and the Extreme Right Wing of the party became energized and very proactive in its goal to be destructive to our new President and his administration and policies by any means necessary.
Sarah Palin was on FNC’s Hannity tonight, where things took an interesting turn when she gave her opinion on the Ft. Hood shootings. Palin stated that the shootings were an act of terrorism, and she claimed that it could have been prevented if the military would have engaged in racial profiling.
Is Jon Stewart the only man on television willing to hold Fox News accountable? Tonight on The Daily Show, Stewart called out FNC’s Sean Hannity for not only inflating the attendance number from Michele Bachmann’s healthcare protest, but also for trying to pass off footage from the 9/12 protest as evidence of the crowd size. Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly, Glenn Beck, and Sean Hannity have all given rousing endorsements to ABC’s revival of the show V. All three of the FNC personalities claim that the show is a political statement against Obama and healthcare reform. Ironically enough, all three also made their claims on the exact same day. I smell a talking point here.
The talk radio fear mongering over healthcare reform hit a new low today, as Sean Hannity invoked death panels to allege that senior citizens will be last on the list for swine flu vaccinations. Hannity insinuated that the Obama administration is intentionally denying seniors swine flu shots. while undercutting his claims by saying that seniors are less likely to get the swine flu.
Tonight on FNC’s Hannity, host Sean Hannity was discussing how the Democrats have pulled back on health care reform and the death panels, when FNC contributor Dick Morris corrected him and said that there never was any death panel. Dick Morris better watch it. The truth is a dangerous thing to utter on Fox News.
Ann Coulter was on FNC’s Hannity last night where she defended Sarah Palin decision to resign as Alaska governor by saying, “A lot of the hatred, probably a majority of the hatred is coming from liberal women in New York who have overheard their boyfriends say well gotta admit she is good looking.” According to Coulter, Palin’s critics are jealous of her looks.
