Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has announced that the state will appeal a ruling from U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman that blocked its controversial abortion restrictions.

“We disagree with the Court’s decision and have already taken steps to immediately appeal it to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) said on Twitter this morning. “The sanctity of human life is, and will always be, a top priority for me.” read more

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has been sued for blocking people on Twitter. The lawsuit was filed on Thursday in a Texas federal court by The Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University and the American Civil Liberties Union of Texas, who are representing nine individuals who said Paxton blocked them after they criticized him, including one instance where an individual was blocked after imploring Paxton to comply with Covid-19 safety measures and wear a mask. read more
