The Washington Post is reporting this morning that U.S. intelligence agencies have obtained new evidence that North Korea will not surrender its nuclear stockpile, contrary to the assertions of President Donald Trump. U.S. officials also believe that North Korea’s leader, Kim Jong Un, is attempting to hide its nuclear weapons and conceal its nuclear weapons production facilities.
Rachel Maddow asked why Trump gave up the joint military exercises with South Korea and she showed that the answer is Russia.
GOP Senator Lindsey Graham of South Carolina expressed the views of many of his Senate colleagues on Tuesday when he said that any deals made between the U.S. and North Korea at President Trump’s summit with Kim Jong Un must go through Congress for approval.Â
MSNBC's Rachel Maddow and Nicolle Wallace crushed the right's hypocrisy for praising Trump for kissing up to N. Korea after they called Obama weak.
Nicolle Wallace said what the rest of the media won't that Trump is desperate and his political survival depends on the meeting.
Trump is lowering expectations and walking back his planned North Korea summit by saying that the meeting may not happen on June 12.
Trump said, “We’re moving along. We’ll see what happens. There are certain conditions we want. If we get those conditions, we don’t have the meeting. Frankly, it’s a chance to be a great, great meeting for North Korea and a great meeting for the world. If it doesn’t happen, maybe it will happen later. Maybe it will happen at a different time. But we will see. But we are talking. The meetings scheduled as you know on June 12th in Singapore. Whether or not it happens, you’ll be knowing pretty soon, but we’re talking right now.”
In negotiating with North Korea Donald Trump may have broken his own #1 rule, as expressed in his book The Art of the Deal: “The worst thing you can possibly do in a deal is seem desperate to make it. That makes the other guy smell blood, and then you’re dead.”
