Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) has angered many of her new Democratic colleagues in Congress by aligning herself with a progressive outside group that has threatened to “primary” incumbent Democrats next year. Now some of those lawmakers are returning fire on her, and are considering recruiting a primary challenger to run against the 29 year-old.

The ancient right-wing operative dismissively referred to the 29-year-old Congresswoman as “the little girl” with a big “mouth.” It didn’t take long for the brilliant Ocasio-Cortez to fire back with a zinger that may go down in history as one of the all-time great comebacks.
Another progressive, liberal old white man has fallen to a younger, more progressive minority woman in an urban congressional district. The Washington Post has reported that 66 year old Michael Capuano in Massachusetts lost in the Democratic primary in his bid for an 11th term. The Post said that Capuano conceded to Boston City Councilwoman Ayanna Pressley after polls closed in the state.
Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) was in Kansas on Friday campaigning for local Democratic congressional candidates and he had some choice words for the current occupant of the White House. Sanders said he was appalled at the way President Donald Trump handled Russian President Vladimir Putin during their summit meeting in Helsinki on Monday.
The #4 ranking Democrat in the U.S. House of Representatives suffered a stunning defeat Tuesday night in the New York state primary and Donald Trump immediately took credit. According to the president, Rep. Joe Crowley, who has had his eye on Nancy Pelosi’s Speaker position, would have won if he had been “nicer” to him.
