Needless to say yesterday was a YUGE news day in Washington, D.C., and it was hard to stay on top of every story that broke during the day. One important thing happened that seemed to get lost in the shuffle — the head of the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) sent a letter to the Department of Justice telling them that the President of the United States had committed a crime.
On Monday we reported that members of the conservative House Freedom Caucus have drafted articles of impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod J. Rosenstein. This is of course an unprecedented move, and it is also a sign of desperation on the part of the congressional allies of President Donald Trump.
You don’t get to be Deputy Attorney General of the United States by being dumb. And Rod Rosenstein just proved how really smart he is.
Rosenstein recently communicated to President Trump that he is not a “target” of any federal criminal investigation Michael Cohen, Trump’s longtime attorney and “fixer.”
