Rudy Giuliani Suggests The Impeachment Trial is illegitimate Because the Jurors Were Also Witnesses

Rudy Giuliani My Cousin Vinny Press Conference

It will most likely not matter in the long run, but Donald Trump’s impeachment trial is not going well. While his lawyers have seemed unprepared, the Democratic impeachment managers have been making concise arguments.

Trump’s lawyers are in a reasonably tough spot. The evidence against their client is damning and they are struggling to argue their way out of it. Rudy Giuliani, who has also represented Trump in court, has a solution for them. The former New York City mayor thinks they should argue that the trial is illegitimate because the senators acting as the jury were also witnesses.

Giuliani made the comments during a Wednesday appearance on OAN. He told host Chanel Rion:

“I was very upset when — I think I believe — he (Trump lawyer Bruce Castor) basically said that the president’s argument about the — about fraud in the election was not., you know, really valid. I think they should put in all the evidence that they have for all of these different states that shows that when the president talks about this, whether you agree or not, the ultimate result should change. There was certainly a massive, massive amount of evidence that the press is making believe doesn’t exist.”

Rion then asked, “Mayor, Democrats are making this out to be like a judicial trial when there are basic rules they are breaking that would toss their case out immediately. Case in point, they are prosecuting a case when they themselves were the witnesses in that case. Doesn’t this compromise the fairness of a real trial.”

Giuliani answered, “Let’s assume this was an incitement to riot trial and a person showed up on the jury that was in the building at the time; that person would be thrown out and then disqualified immediately.”

Rudy Giuliani Angered By Disclaimer During His Radio Program

Rudy Giuliani, who hosts a daily afternoon show on New York’s 77 Talk Radio WABC, was angered after WABC issued a disclaimer ahead of his program.

WABC said Giuliani’s views and those of “his guests and callers on his program are strictly their own, and do not necessarily represent the opinions, beliefs or policies of WABC Radio.”

Giuliani has come under fire for his association with former President Donald Trump––Giuliani worked as Trump’s personal attorney––but especially so in the wake of the Capitol insurrection. Giuliani appeared at a rally ahead of the attack, which resulted in the deaths of five people, including a Capitol Police officer who later died of his injuries, and encouraged attendees to stop the electoral certification of President Joe Biden‘s election win.

Giuliani was also recently named as one of the defendants in a defamation lawsuit filed by voting system company Smartmatic against Fox News, which is requesting $2.7 billion in damages from the corporation, which allowed Giuliani and others named in its suit to spread falsehoods about the election.

He was rather miffed by the disclaimer.

“I would have thought they would have told me about that before just doing what they just did. Rather insulting. And gives you a sense of how far this free speech thing has gone. And how they frighten everybody. I mean, we’re in America, we’re not in East Germany,” he said.

“They’ve got to warn you about me? I’m going to have to give that a lot of consideration. I also think putting it on without telling me ― not the right thing to do. Not the right thing to do at all,” he added.

James Comey on Trump: I Wondered If I Should “Just Sue the Bastard”

2018 05 01T014915Z 1 LYNXMPEE401HT RTROPTP 4 USA COMEY

From 2016 through 2017, FBI Director James Comey played a massive role in American politics. Just weeks before the election, he sent a letter about Hillary Clinton’s emails to Congress. This may have cost her the election.

After Trump was elected, he demanded loyalty from Comey and fired him after the he declined. Over the last few years, Comey has attempted to rebuild his reputation on cable news.

The former FBI Director expounded on his relationship with Trump during a recent radio appearance with Dan Abrams. The host asked, “Have you ever thought about suing President Trump or his allies for some of the things that have been said about you?”

“Actually it’s funny you should ask that,” Comey replied. “Yes. Occasionally it has popped in my head, and I decided it’s not worth giving them the attention that would involve, or giving them the space in my head that that would require. I’d rather just not follow him on Twitter. He said so many things that were false and defamatory about me that would have been actionable, and I just thought, I wonder if I should sue the bastard?” Comey recalled. “And then decided, you know what, it’s not worth giving him that airtime, which he craves, and letting him in my head that much.” read more

Report: Donald Trump is Stiffing Lawyer Rudy Giuliani on Legal Fees

Donald Trump had high hopes this election season. He, of course, believed deep down he would defeat Joe Biden. And even if he didn’t, he would assemble a crack team of lawyers who could help him win.

And Trump did have some impressive legal firms ready to represent him post election. The problem was, however, that Trump lost the election by a lot. And once the bad press came in, the prestigious legal teams began to walk away.

So Trump was left with his long-time ally and friend, Rudy Giuliani, along with conspiracy theorists like Sidney Powell, Jenna Ellis and Joe DeGenova. The “Elite Strike Force” legal team regularly got their clocks cleaned in court.

And the ringleader of the circus was Rudy Giuliani. From holding a press conference next to a sex shop, to introducing witnesses that were seemingly drunk, the former New York City Mayor has provided non-stop embarrassment.

The humiliation of his loss is beginning to sink in for Donald Trump. Not only will he soon leave the White House, his business empire is destroyed and he’s facing legal jeopardy in New York City. And he’s certainly not happy with Giuliani.

According to a report from the Washington Post:

“Trump has instructed aides not to pay Giuliani’s legal fees, two officials said, and has demanded that he personally approve any reimbursements for the expenses Giuliani incurred while traveling on the president’s behalf to challenge election results in key states. They said Trump has privately expressed concern with some of Giuliani’s moves and did not appreciate a demand from Giuliani for $20,000 a day in fees for his work attempting to overturn the election.” read more

New York State Bar Association Looking to Remove Rudy Giuliani from Membership

The New York State Bar Association (NYSBA) is looking to remove Rudy Giuliani from its membership, citing his involvement in inciting last week’s attack against the Capitol.

“Thankfully, Congress overcame this assault and fulfilled its constitutional responsibility in certifying the Biden-Harris victory. However, we must address the root cause of this abhorrent incident, the blame for which lies first and foremost with President Donald Trump,” NYSBA said in a release.

“But the president did not act alone. Hours before the angry mob stormed the Capitol walls, Trump’s personal attorney, Rudolph Giuliani, addressed a crowd of thousands at the White House, reiterating baseless claims of widespread election fraud in the presidential election and the Georgia U.S. Senate runoffs,” the organization continued, noting that it

has “received hundreds of complaints in recent months about Mr. Giuliani and his baseless efforts on behalf of President Trump to cast doubt on the veracity of the 2020 presidential election and, after the votes were cast, to overturn its legitimate results.” read more

US Attorney Hints That Trump Could Be Charged As Part Of Insurrection Investigation

Donald Trump had been asking his supporters to fight for him for weeks. It began with a flyer he distributed promising that January 6th in Washington DC would be a wild time.

Then there were weeks of tweets with his claims of frauds getting more extreme by the day. And then there was the speech that he gave yesterday morning. Not only did he direct his fans to head to the Capitol he even hinted that he may join them.

And all of this rhetoric helped incite a riot in Washington DC. The US Attorney who will be investigating the case, Michael Sherwin, said Trump may be a part of his investigation.

Trump wasn’t the only one inciting violence during his Wednesday speech. His son, Donald Jr. and Rudy Giuliani also stoked the flames. Sherwin was asked if those who spoke at the rally would be looking into.

Yes,” he responded, “we are looking at all actors here, not only the people that went into the building, but . . . were there others that maybe assisted or facilitated or played some ancillary role in this. We will look at every actor and all criminal charges read more

Giuliani Left a Voicemail with the Wrong Senator in a Final Effort to Delay Certifying Biden’s Win

President Donald Trump‘s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani left a voicemail with the wrong senator in a final effort to delay certifying President-elect Joe Biden‘s win. Giuliani attempted to reach Senator Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) but he left the message on the voicemail of another senator, who has not been identified.

In his message to Tuberville, Giuliani claimed that lawmakers on Capitol Hill were “trying to rush this hearing and how we need you, our Republican friends, to try to just slow it down so we can get these legislatures to get more information to you.”

“And I know they’re reconvening at 8 tonight, but it … the only strategy we can follow is to object to numerous states and raise issues so that we get ourselves into tomorrow—ideally until the end of tomorrow,” he continued.

The report originated from the conservative news outlet The Dispatch, which published the recorded voicemail.

You can listen to it below.
