Here’s an interesting question: if Donald Trump and his aides in the White House are claiming total exoneration from the Mueller report, why are they refusing to release the report that supposedly exonerates them?
Nearly half of the American voters surveyed in a new opinion poll say they believe that Donald Trump’s 2016 election campaign colluded with Russia.
This result came even though Attorney General William Barr’s summary of the special counsel’s investigation appeared to conclude that there was no evidence to support that finding, or at least to support criminal charges.
Under guidelines set out by the Department of Justice (DOJ) special counsel Robert Mueller must submit a report on his findings of criminal conduct to Attorney General William Barr. He may or may not release the so-called “criminal report” to Congress and to the public.
Michael Cohen’s testimony yesterday implicated Donald Trump in a Russian conspiracy to interfere with the 2016 presidential election, according to a former federal prosecutor.
The president claimed after Cohen’s daylong congressional testimony that his former personal attorney had cleared him of any charges in the so-called “Russian hoax.” But former U.S. Attorney Barbara McQuade in an artile today in The Daily Beast maintains that Cohen had actually bolstered the criminal case against Trump as well as other members of his inner circle, including his oldest son, Don Jr.
Panic and chaos are hitting the Trump administration this morning, after longtime Trump friend and campaign aide Roger Stone was arrested during an early-morning FBI raid on his home. New reporting shows that former Trump adviser Steve Bannon may also be implicated in the charges against Stone.
Rudy Giuliani told Chris Cuomo on CNN last night that he “never said there was no collusion” between the Trump campaign and Russia. The former New York City mayor said that in the past he had only claimed that the president himself was not personally involved in collusion. By his statements, the president’s personal attorney basically admitted that the Trump campaign did in fact collude with Russia to help Trump win the 2016 election.
During Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign and transition period, he and his associates had over 100 contacts with Russian-linked officials, and lied about and tried to cover up every one of them.
This bombshell information comes from a new report from the Moscow Project and Center for American Progress.
President Donald Trump engaged in campaign violations and colluded with Russia, committing both crimes “in plain sight” according to an op-ed published in USA Today.
Ethics watchdogs Fred Wertheimer and Norm Eisen wrote the op-ed, pointing out Trump’s obvious crimes. One, of course, occurred when Trump’s longtime attorney, Michael Cohen, implicated the president in a conspiracy when he pleaded guilty to violating campaign finance laws.
Last week Robert Mueller won a big court victory. The court decision was widely reported, but its significance may not have been fully seen at the time. Because of this court victory it is likely now that Mueller will be able to prove that criminal collusion took place between Russia and the 2016 Trump presidential campaign.
New testimony from former Trump aide George Papadopoulos seems to implicate Attorney General Jeff Sessions in activities of collusion between the Trump presidential campaign and the Russian government. In addition, if Papadopoulos is to be believed, Sessions may have committed perjury when he lied in his sworn testimony to Congress about his involvement in approving meetings between Russia and Trump campaign officials.
Did Rudy Giuliani just announce to the world that Donald Trump colluded with Russia in order win the U.S. presidency in 2016?
After Trump has spent the last several years tweeting and saying in public “no collusion” every chance he gets, his television lawyer may have just admitted on Fox & Friends that there was indeed “collusion” but that it is not a crime.
Trump/Russia collusion was made visible by Wikileaks asking Trump Jr. to have his father tweet out a link, and 15 minutes later, Trump complied.
