Republicans, and their wealthy owners in the oil, coal, and chemical industry, particularly do not believe that any American warrants clean, non-toxic drinking water, and on Thursday Republicans in the Senate took an important step to make sure at least a third of the American population will lose access to what decent human beings believe is one of the most basic human rights; clean water.
Speaker John A. Boehner boasted that Republicans primary duty was not to make laws, but eliminate them for their wealthy donors' benefit. Now, the sitting Senate Majority Leader has went a step farther and issued a call to governors to become 'law breakers' to benefit the fossil fuel industry that bought control of Congress for Republicans.
Now, every Republican and related conservative is under the illusion that providing for the general welfare means providing for the fossil fuel industry, corporations, the wealthy, Christian clergy, and financial sector's general welfare, but that is not what the Founding Fathers or the first four American presidents believed; neither does President Barack Obama.
