Trump Lies To The Troops And Makes Up Fake Afghanistan Cease-Fire

Trump told the troops that he is working on a cease-fire in Afghanistan, which, according to all parties involved, doesn’t exist.

Trump Lied To The Troops On Afghanistan cease-fire

Via The Washington Post:

Declaring that the U.S.-Taliban talks he abruptly canceled in September are back in motion, Trump said during a Thanksgiving Day visit to troops in Afghanistan that the Taliban “wants to make a deal. And we’re meeting with them, and we’re saying it has to be a cease-fire.â€

“They didn’t want to do a cease-fire, but now they do want to do a cease-fire,†Trump said of the militants. “It will probably work out that way. . . . We’ve made tremendous progress,†he added.

But on Friday neither the Taliban nor the government of Afghan President Ashraf Ghani indicated that a cease-fire was near, or even being discussed in resumed U.S. negotiations.

Trump has to be loved in every single room that he enters, so of course, he made up an imaginary cease-fire and lied to the faces of the troops on Thanksgiving. Imagine the relief of the families of those service members when they heard that their loved ones could be in less danger and maybe even coming home very soon.

It was all a lie.

There is no cease-fire. There are no plans for a cease-fire. The whole thing is a figment of Donald Trump’s imagination. There is no low that is too low for this president. He lies to his friends, family, his own administration, Congress, the troops, and the entire country.

Some military officials don’t want to be seen with him at public events, because this president is undercutting and politicizing the military in dangerous ways, and worst of he is lying to people who risk their lives to protect this nation.
