Sen. Bob Corker told CNN that he would not support President Trump in another election. Corker has been unchained by retirement, and he is going after Trump hard.

Sen. Corker (R=TN) was asked by CNN’s Manu Raju if he regretted supporting Trump in the election. Corker answered, “Let’s just put it this way, I would not do that again.” Raju asked, “You would not support him in another election?” Corker replied, “No way. No way. Nah, I think that he’s proven himself unable to rise to the occasion. I think many of us, me included, have tried to you know, I’ve intervened, I’ve had private dinner, I’ve been with him on multiple occasions to try to create some kind of aspirational approach if you will to the way that he conducts himself, but I don’t think that’s possible, and he’s obviously not going to rise to the occasion as president.”
Earlier in the morning during a different interview on CBS, Corker said that Trump was debasing America and that his governing style was based on division and appealing to his base. Bob Corker is putting it all out there on the table, and what makes the timing of Corker’s comments fascinating is that he and Trump will be face to face at the weekly Republican Senate lunch that Trump will be attending.
Sen. Corker is on a rampage, and he is making it clear that he and the Republican Party made a big mistake by supporting Trump.
