Here is the report from the White House press pool as provided to PoliticusUSA, “POTUS came back to the press cabin and spoke for almost five minutes off the record. We asked to put some remarks on record, and POTUS said “you can say we’re considering it” in terms of canceling the rally. He also said on record that he spoke to the governor of Pennsylvania, mayor of Pittsburgh, and Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump.”
People are dead and fighting for their lives after an act of violence that was inspired by the president and his own party’s rhetoric. There is nothing to be considered. The president and Republicans should be apologizing to this nation for the violence that they have inspired and incited.
Out of respect for the injured and the dead, Trump should not be holding a political event.
Trump has accelerated this culture of violence and hate. Any other president would have already canceled the event. Trump has no respect for pain and suffering of others, and that impression is only reinforced when Trump has to think about whether or not he should cancel his political venting session as Americans are mourning and fighting for their lives.
