GOP Congressman Claims The FBI Is Carrying Out An “Illegal Coup” Against Trump

Rep. Dr. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) said that he believes that the FBI colluded with British agents to carry out an “illegal coup” against Donald Trump.

Rep. Gosar tweeted:

A member of the House was pushing the QAnon conspiracy theory that was labeled a terror threat by the FBI

Besides the fact that a sitting member of the House is pushing a bogus conspiracy theory, the other issue is that there is no such thing as an “illegal coup.” By definition, a coup is an illegal seizure of government power. A legal coup does not exist. The third problem with Gosar’s tweets is that the FBI could not have been engaging in a coup against the president because Donald Trump wasn’t president when the Russia investigation began.

There can’t be a coup against the president if the president wasn’t in office yet.

Donald Trump has taken the crazy that was the fringe element of the Republican Party and made it the entire Republican Party.
