Democratic Senators Cory Booker (NJ), Tina Smith (MN), and Brian Schatz (HI) showed up to protest Medicaid cuts with a hand delivered letter during the committee markup.
I completely agree that this is what Democrats should be doing. I feel that Congress and the Democrats are just sitting around in shock watching dRUMPf and the Republicans destroy the country. We cannot afford to be apathetic and complacent. We cannot afford to accept this blindly. We have to fight!
Performative “governing” by House republicans needs to be met with every tool available to shine a light on their antics. They draft legislation in the dark of night, and pass horrible bills in secret because they know it is wildly unpopular. Darkness is their cover and we have to do everything we can to bring their hateful destruction into the light. The MSM is not going to help, so anything we and Sen. Dems can do is what we should be doing.
Finally they’re doing something to stand up for Americans who are paying through their blood tears and sweat and trying to keep a roof over their heads and put food on table and paying taxes for paying representatives to do their fucking JOB!
Send out a mailing. Do you know someone dependent on Medicaid!? Are you aware that they may all lose their health benefits? Contact your house representatives and senators to tell them to favor the people who need help the most: NOT THE FAT CAT RICH PEOPLE.
