If the New York Times report is true, the Mary Peltola campaign did something dumb and unnecessary, but not illegal. The two Dan Sullivans ballot controversy and the role the Peltola campaign might have played in recruiting a second Dan Sullivan were breathlessly treated by elites like the Times and the White House as a major scandal.

The problem is that the two candidates with the same trick is an ancient trick that is used in every single election cycle.
