Fuck Trump. He knows nothing about ANYTHING! He’s a classless, stupid, blue blood narcissist who has never “worked” a day in his life! He MUST GO! I can’t see what ANY “working” person sees in him!!

I remember when I got first wind of Project 2025… My very Republican relatives told me I was nuts…. & I had TDS.

I think any “good person” with eyes & a conscience should have TDS!

Typical of the most unsympathetic, heartless SOB you can imagine. The moment to get rid of him is NOW. He is unfit for office!! He is UNQUALIFIED IN EVERY WAY!! REPUGNICANS (Republicans) SHOULD LOSE EVERY SEAT IN THE HOUSE AND SENATE!! Let's GO America and bring our country back. Nobody can do it but US ... this is our country ... it does not belong to some demented cretin supported by the RICH!! Time for a NATIONAL STRIKE AGAINST TRUMP!!

There is no mechanism for getting rid of him short of Democrats winning the House and 66 Senate seats in 2026. The 25th Amendment will never happen. People need to move on from getting rid of Trump and in my view focus on limiting his power. That means electing a Democratic Congress that can block nominees and his agenda, while turning him into a lame duck and investigating corruption.---Jason

The 25th might happen in January 2027 so Vance can take over as Thiel and his billionaires in the Cabinet want. Can even happen before the new Congress takes over so Vance can declare martial law and cancel all elections.

Now you are saying what I've been saying all along. This is their goal to complete power.

It’s 67 senators needed to remove.

From England it seems likely that there won't be mid-term elections or if they do go ahead Trump and his handlers in the Heritage Foundation will engineer the results for a GOP/MAGA majority. The increasing likelihood of martial law, gerrymandering districts, scrapping mail-in votes, intimidating and denying the vote to thousands are in the Project 2025 playbook. They've opened the first chapter in LA, Washington and probably, Chicago. The next chapter will be denial of elections

I’ve never been able to understand the failure of workers to support unions. I understand union heads have committed illegal and fraudulent acts, but unions have been the only protection workers have against the greed of many employers. Without unions we would not have many of the benefits we enjoy. These benefits would not have been just provided by altruistic employers. Happy Labor Day!

Stewart Gooderman O.D.'s avatar

I'll tell you why. Unions often (or are committed to) protect the incompetent among the ranks of their membership, instead of forcing them out and keeping the workforce strong and therefore powerful. If you are doing your job but you see a fellow worker not doing their job but is protected, how do you think that makes *you* feel??

We are surrounded by incompetents and I have discovered that many are, like you, a MAGA. I taught for 32 years, not in a union, and was often surrounded by people who shouldn’t have received tenure. But they did because administrators didn’t do their job and observe their classes and weed them out. I also have encountered incompetent optical professionals. What have you done to remove them from the “good old boys” network?

Expand full comment
Stewart Gooderman O.D.'s avatar

First of all, I don't belong to a union just like you. Second, I've seen union members especially teachers, go through probation with incompetent supervisors only to find them placed in the "rubber room" because they were incompetent in their jobs. And I have encountered subpar medical professionals of all stripes in my 50 years of practice. That's what malpractice and licensing Boards are for. We have guard rails. Do teachers have that once they are tenured? The answer is no.

And finally, if you think I am a MAGAT, you are as incompetent as the people you are railing about.

If any advance in worker rights had Obama’s or Biden’s name attached to it, Trump is going after it. It’s all about revenge - no matter the consequences or the effects on human lives. Reprehensible but unsurprising.

Are you kidding me? How can Trump get away with doing this? Are there no guardrails left to rein in his stupid actions? How can we stop him from actually doing this? Surely there are influencers out there that can take this up and publicize what he is trying to do. As a former loss prevention professional, i know how hard it is to get some employers to enforce worker protection. Without rules to enforce and/or incentivize employers to do the right thing regarding workplace safety, there will be more people hurt at work. I can only hope that the courts will be able to reign him in!

Guardrails? Guardrails mean nothing to men like Trump. America has become a country controlled by the uber-rich, and conditions for workers will only get worse. Nothing matters more than making obscenely huge profits. They care nothing for the country, as demonstrated by their refusal to pay their fair share of taxes. The gap between the wealthy and the rest of us is much bigger than it was when the French decided they had had enough and solved it with the guillotine. Don't count on the courts or Congress to protect us. They have proven to be unwilling or unable to do so.

I have to disagree with you. Who fought for OSHA, ACA (which I wish was single pay), minimum wage, family leave, worker’s comp? Dems! Which party took trillions out of the social security lock box, is decimating regulatory agencies, was gleeful about citizens united, voted against the Green New Deal and infrastructure and for the Big Ugly Bill. The Rethugs!

Both siderism doesn’t cut it. But maybe the Rethugs lie louder and with more floursh.

Only a few solutions to this Regressive Republiscum Reward to big money from our soulless Commander-In-Thief.

1) Crush big business by systematically withholding our labor and purchases.

2) Remove Trump by any means possible, as soon as possible. The Constitution clearly allows for it. It's pointless to wait for the midterms.

3) Get Blue States-led soft secession genuinely underway IMMEDIATELY, with its myriad of benefits for citizens, compared to this untenable BS.

Enough talk.

Drastic, real actions are required.
