Hakeem Jeffries Dooms Pete Hegseth To Being Impeached

Pete Hegseth is trying to talk tough and save his job, but a few words from the next Speaker of the House made it clear that every Democrat is going to vote to impeach the Secretary of Defense.

Pete Hegseth is fighting for his job. Trump has already given the Secretary of Defense the Trumpian kiss of death. Three weeks before firing former Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, the president said that she was doing a great job. After Democrats stormed to a massive midterm election victory, Trump said the same about Hegseth.

Trump has reportedly been calling around and asking for feedback on Hegseth’s job performance, so the Defense Secretary is clearly on thin ice.

Republican Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) will introduce a resolution to impeach Hegseth on Monday. Because Massie is introducing impeachment as a privileged resolution, the House will have to vote on it within two legislative days.

House Republicans are already warning that they expect a massive attendance problem for the lame-duck session that begins this week.

Johnson could try to send everyone home, but the majority in attendance will likely be House Democrats, who will block any effort by the Speaker to shut down the House.

In case there was any doubt about where House Democrats stood on impeaching Hegseth and the Massie resolution, Rep. Hakeem Jeffries made the situation very clear.

On ABC’s This Week, Jon Karl asked Jeffries, “Well, let me ask you about Pete Hegseth because Thomas Massie, of course a Republican, tells me that he intends to introduce a resolution of impeachment of Hegseth, as defense secretary, as soon as tomorrow? Are you going to support that? Will Democrats vote in favor of that impeachment resolution?”
