That, and MSNBC never kept up with the slow demise of cable tv and many viewers' preference for a streaming model. Had they set up streaming plans for MSNBC content, I bet ratings would've been competitive with or better than any news show, even with the same lineup. Joy Reid is great, and I look forward to seeing the better place she lands.
I think MANBC would have done better to go streaming and actually compete with Faux News in the same way. By only being a paid “cable” type network, so many didn’t see it. This possibly could have changed the outcome if that sham of an election as well.

Ditto. I like Joy and Alex. But I stopped watching both CNN and MSNBC completely before the election, and haven’t gone back. Not because I don’t “like” them or distrust their content, but because the news was just too traumatizing. Now I rely on Bluesky, YouTube, Straight Arrow News and Substack so I can better control when I watch and for how long to maintain some level of mental health.
It is such a huge loss that I will not watch ANY MSNBC shows anymore. Joy spoke truth to power more than any other anchor on the station. She was the best! Alex was good, too. MSNBC keeps getting rid of their best journalists! Why bother to watch it anymore?

Context is key in human communication, and in my opinion, it’s coming across as insistent and tone deaf mansplaining, whether that’s the intention or not. One can be right and allow others to express their feelings of loss, which are not about correctness.

If you appreciate people saying the truth, Jason is speaking from the experience of being a professional in the business.
Again, it’s an opinion which may or may not turn out to be true. Context is key in human communication, and in my opinion, it’s coming across as insistent and tone deaf mansplaining, whether that’s the intention or not. One can be right and allow others to express their feelings of loss, which are not about correctness.
I am going to weigh in on this and agree with Jason. All media is about profits--money and greed. If they had a popular zebra, they would put him/her on the air. Corporate greed is the name of the game--more so now than ever! And after all, MSNBC is run by a corporation. End of story.

MSNBC is certainly capitulating with these recent cancellations. All a bad move.
I hope they didn't react based on the first couple of months after the election because a lot of us viewers were in stunned mode and couldn't watch anything until we gathered our bearings.
