Lutnut is a sociopath, and a pathological liar, just like the rest of Mob Boss Trump's

Enforcers. Billionaires are that wealthy, because they have screwed lots of "little people" all along the way--just like their Felon Boss.

Jennifer - we need to add all comments with "shocked" to add the "shocked, just shocked" (Louis from Casablanca gif?) to all of these.

I'm catching up on this thread, "liked" your comment when you posted - but I see it and hear *Louis* in my head (okay, TMI)

But an alternative: eeerrrrghmaagadddd, he lied? ...

just doesn't *resonate* in the same ways? 🧐

Luttnik is an idiot. Why can’t any of these rocket scientists under Trump speak in coherent sentences. Could it be that they’re in over their heads in jobs they can’t do? Bottom feeders, every one of them, who have cheated their way through life. But hell awaits them. With that knowledge, I’m able to sleep a few hours at night.

So no new jobs for Americans- just $ for America’s King, and Court? What a disappointment! I’m not surprised at all. No factory jobs for his supporters, in rural areas. No revitalization, as promised. Creep.

You are quite understated in your characterization of him as a “creep.” I’d call him a cretin but that would demean the cretins (and also slur those from Crete). I can think of many epithets for Donald J. Drumpf, but none seem to capture the horror that is the man. Maybe that’s it-he’s Joseph Conrad’s essence of “the horror” as expressed by Marlon Brando’s Kurtz in Apocalypse Now.

I think Lutnick should be retired while a robot does his job as Commerce Secretary. It would certainly do a better job, right?

The companies that moved operations overseas did so because of cheap labor. The only way they move back here is for cheap labor. Since Reagan was President the country has been very much anti union. I have read that many feel that the present administration wants to go back to the Gilded age of America with the rail barons and steel magnates and the ultra wealthy. Also prevalent during the so called gilded age was child labor, sweatshops, and extremely unsafe working conditions. No unions, who in fact force up wages at non union shops, no benefits and much suffering. When Marie Antionette was informed that the people couldn't afford bread she said " Let them eat cake." I can imagine Trumpionette saying " let them play golf!"

I think Lutnick wants out, and he's willing to be honest with the people in hopes of being fired by Trump.

I don’t know that honesty and Lutnick have met.

I also don’t think he’s ever made the acquaintance of integrity.

In theory, the regime wasn’t going to allow him to go on talking heads shows again - but here he is again today.

In all fairness, I need to share a link that goes into a bit about Lutnick’s life.

I think - in the past - he has had some integrity and compassion - but that seems to be “gone”. Post 9/11, his behavior(s) begged questions. He has done some “good things” - and other incredibly questionable things.

None of us are perfect. But the Howard Lutnick today is a bit different than the person people describe from the early ’80’s. His honesty and integrity seem to be MIA.

Have a look, read. There are questions.

I've read it but I only saw a CV. There were no questions. It appears he became a great fund raiser. Why he would fund Trump is a big question mark.

More $ (for him) and proximity to power is the general impression/gist from college, investment crowd. So many questions about how he handled the aftermath of 9/11 and the Cantor Fitzgerald families - and that’s from folks that we know personally who were at first surprised that he was all in for tRump.

Your assessment is pretty spot-on.

Lots of issues (likely trauma related). Our old stomping grounds, if you will, are Philly and NY area so we had some exposure to him over the decades - kind of like tRump - anyone paying attention from the '80's to the present day knows what they saw and marvel that he's in the Oval. This time with a bigger group of sycophants, unfortunately.

And here we are...

Lutnick doesn't care. POS doesn't care. Skum doesn't care. RFK Jr doesn't care. Nobody in that entire administration gives a damn about anyone except those who bow down to them and service them - and yes, I do mean in that way as well. And in their dream world, if millions go hungry, die of diseases, are homeless, etc., who cares? They're clowns or subhuman or worthless or deserve to die. That's what they think of you, America.

It is tough to lie consistently under scrutiny and pressure. Wondering if there are cracks there w Lutnick? (small cracks become large cracks) In any case, I wouldn’t rely on him to do whatever “the right thing” may be there (i.e, I don’t see him resigning, going to an investigative reporter to spill details, etc).

Somebody truly needs to give thought to the fact that young men of normal but not excessive mental ability are lost without factory jobs. Absolutely nothing else is available that will pay them like their grandfathers were paid. Some of the malaise this causes may be what fuels our need for illegal drugs. If no need, they would not be coming here. No sales they would not be coming here. This is a real problem nobody seems to be giving any thought to. Automation is with us and will take many good paying jobs away from men.

The Biden Administration created 15 million jobs, revitalized the auto industry, and was a strong supporter of Unions. He came from a working class family, and has a servants heart. What a contrast with Dumpster Fire, who never broke a sweat outside of a golf course. He cheated every tradesperson who ever worked for him, and considered people who got their hands dirty doing honest work, beneath him. If you haven't read Player Piano by Kurt Vonnegut, this would be a good time to check it out. People gain a sense of self worth and dignity from their jobs I was a union carpenter, and occasionally we'll drive over a bridge that I worked on. My grandkids roll their eyes when I tell them "I built this bridge!"

It's the Laffer Curve revisited! Believing a Republican promise always ends with disillusionment and anger for the mopes....as usual they'll blame everyone else 'cuz it's only the 'little people' who fckup that's why they have to be taxed so much🤑

Expand full comment
CatChex's avatar

Yes - and since the Laffer Curve seems to have first been proposed in the late ‘70s, more fully embraced in the ’80’s (there’s that decade coming up again w this group) - it is very likely that it truly IS the Laffer Curve revisited. The Heritage Foundation and other groups seem to just love it - to the detriment of the rest of us.

Another one of those areas where “conservative think tank” is an oxymoron?
