Read About Ivanka Trump's Plotting To Return To The White House On THE DAILY
In the excerpts released today, Palin is now an expert on journalism, “Bored, anonymous, pathetic bloggers who lie annoy me….I’ll tell you, yesterday the Anchorage Daily News, they called again to ask — double-, triple-, quadruple-check — who is Trig’s real mom. And I said, Come on, are you kidding me? We’re gonna answer this? Do you not believe me or my doctor? And they said, No, it’s been quite cryptic the way that my son’s birth has been discussed. And I thought, Okay, more indication of continued problems in the world of journalism.”
Palin argued that you can in fact see Russia from Alaska, “You have to let it go. Even hard news sources, credible news sources — the comment about, you can see Russia from Alaska. You can! You can see Russia from Alaska. Something like that — a factual statement that was taken out of context and mocked — what you have to do is let that go.”
The problem with the Russia and Alaska statement is not the truth of what she said, but that she tried to use it to demonstrate that she had more foreign policy experience than Barack Obama. Because the idea is ludicrous that a governor is an expert on foreign policy based on where their state is located. That is why she was mocked
I know many bloggers attacked her family, but I did not. Family is off limits, and even though it might have cost me some traffic, I respected her family’s right to privacy. Even though the campaign tried to use her youngest son as a prop, I believe that the child, as long with her daughter’s pregnancy, had nothing to do with the campaign.
Palin is only hurting herself with her blame the media and bloggers argument. The campaign of Barack Obama demonstrated how powerful the Internet can be, not to mention the campaign of Ron Paul which was driven by the Internet. Her comments are an example of the backwards thinking that is dominating the Republican Party right now.
It is as if, Republicans are denial right now. They want to blame media bias, or bloggers for their defeat, when the truth is that the Republican Party is behind the times in both technology, and the mood of the country. If Republicans choose Palin in 2012, they will be moving towards certain defeat. She is telling Republicans what they want to hear, instead of what they need to hear.
