John McCain Gets Sleazy While Appearing To Hit On Code Pink Protester During Hearing

Sen. John McCain got frat boy creepy when a group of Code Pink protesters interrupted the Senate Armed Services Committee’s hearing on ISIS.

McCain went dirty old sexist man when a much younger Code Pink protester held up a sign saying there is no future in war. McCain said, “I always appreciate special attention from this group, Mr. Chairman.” Another senator replied off camera, “I don’t think she’s old enough for you.”

With one exchange a these senators confirmed everything that Sen. Kristen Gillibrand has been saying about the problem of sexism in the US Senate. In her new book, Sen. Gillibrand wrote that she has had numerous sexist encounters with her male Senate colleagues. Gillibrand wrote that her fellow male senators said things to her like, “Good thing you’re working out because you wouldn’t want to get porky,” and “Don’t lose too much weight now, I like my girls chubby.”

It is easy to understand why this Senate keeps failing to pass legislation such as equal pay for women. John McCain was old enough to be the Code Pink protesters grandfather. Besides the fact that his behavior was both stomach turning and creepy, this is the not the way that a United States senator should behave.

When the committee saw a young woman, they were transformed into construction workers howling at women as they walk down the street. The Senate has a definite sexism problem. It is unlikely that the raunchy old men will change their behavior, so voters need to change the Senate. The best way to deal with a sexist workplace is to get rid of the sexists and hire more women.

There should be no room in the Senate for dirty old men.
