A New York Times investigation into how Donald Trump has treated women over his life was full of disturbing and alarming behavior, but perhaps nothing is as unsettling as Trump asking strangers if his then 16-year-old daughter Ivanka was hot.

The New York Times reported:

Mr. Trump frequently sought assurances — at times from strangers — that the women in his life were beautiful. During the 1997 Miss Teen USA pageant, he sat in the audience as his teenage daughter, Ivanka, helped to host the event from onstage. He turned to Brook Antoinette Mahealani Lee, Miss Universe at the time, and asked for her opinion of his daughter’s body.

“ ‘Don’t you think my daughter’s hot? She’s hot, right?’ ” Ms. Lee recalled him saying. ‘I was like, ‘Really?’ That’s just weird. She was 16. That’s creepy.”

The article is also loaded with the sort of misogyny and sexism that Trump has displayed on a near daily basis while campaigning. Trump admitted that he hired women in his companies because he believed that men tend to be better than women, but women work harder than men. There are also stories of Trump displaying a pattern of inappropriate touching and contact with women, and there is ample evidence that Trump views women as pretty objects whose purpose is to hang on his arm and make him look better. As observers have witnessed on the campaign trail, Trump attempts to criticize and shame women based on their bodies and whether or not their appearance is attractive to him.

Coming on the heels of The Washington Post’s revealing story that Trump spent years acting as his own press agent, and the blow up that Trump had on national television when he refused to reveal his tax rate, the last 24 hours have been devastating for the Trump campaign.

Donald Trump’s presidential campaign is built solely on the personality of the candidate, which means that the past behavior of the man who is promising to make America great by nothing more that his individual talent and personality is fair game.

Republicans didn’t bother to research Trump before the primary campaign started. They are about to realize how big of a mistake they made by handing a creep who looked at his 16-year-old daughter in a sexual way their party’s presidential nomination.
