Trump’s tax plan is as expected heavily tilted towards tax breaks towards the wealthy, but as Sen. Bernie Sanders pointed out, the repeal of the Estate Tax would benefit the family of Donald Trump, “At a time when Trump wants to make major cuts in education, health care, senior programs, nutrition and affordable housing, it is especially outrageous that he would propose the elimination of the Estate Tax and provide a $353 billion dollar tax giveaway to the wealthiest 0.2 percent – including a tax break of up to $4 billion to the Trump family.”
To put Trump’s plan into proper context, consider that the President is proposing that his family gets billions of extra dollars while funding is eliminated for Meals On Wheels, affordable housing programs, nutritional assistance for children, and health care will be taken away from at least 24 million Americans.
The majority of the benefits of Trump’s tax plan are going to the top one percent. Fifty-one percent of all of the benefits in Trump’s tax plan are going to the top one percent of earners. This is not a tax plan for the middle class or the poor.
The Trump plan is a tax cut by the rich for the rich.
As millions of hard working Americans are coming face to face with the horror of potentially losing their health insurance, Donald Trump is planning on giving his kids a $4 billion tax cut. This is what Trump style populism really looks like. The rich get richer, while the poor and sick are left to starve and die.
