If Trump doesn’t make the payment, health insurance companies will have the option of coverage for millions of people next month. Donald Trump is threatening to harm tens of millions of Americans in the hope that he can blackmail Democrats and moderate Republicans into supporting a bill that will take away coverage from at least 23 million people.
Trump has pulled this threat before, and it went nowhere because everyone knows who will be held responsible. Trump is so desperate that he is trying to blackmail his way to a win. Democrats shouldn’t fall for it because if Trump follows through, he will be the one paying the heaviest political price.
