At a press conference, Democrats made it clear that their resolution of no confidence against Trump is part of a clever plan to call out, expose, and hold this president accountable.

Video of the press conference:
Rep. Barbara Lee (D-CA) said, “This is not the behavior of a leader of the free world, the commander in chief.”
Rep. Judy Chu (D-CA), “We have a president who actively undermines the principles of our government. Chu continued, “It’s clear that this president has no idea what makes this country great.” Chu said, “We are drawing a line that Trump’s behavior does not represent the values of this country.” She brought up Trump’s conflicts of interest, and he is using the presidency for personal financial gain.
Rep. Cohen (D-TN) pointed to Trump’s daily lies and said that this is not a way a government or a country should be. Cohen said, “It is a sad for America today that we have come to this point that we have to say that we have no confidence in the president.”
Cohen was asked what the impact of this resolution would be, and he said it would be a strong statement against the President’s behavior. Cohen said that they expect more signees to join the resolution. Rep. Cohen stated that he thinks Republicans won’t get on board with an independent prosecutor until Trump fires special counsel Robert Mueller.
Cohen also said that Trump is not someone that he would want children to admire.
The members who were at this press conference made it clear that they see the resolution of disapproval as a first step. It is interesting that Cohen expects Trump to fire Mueller, and at at that point, Republicans will get on board with the resolution.
Democrats aren’t looking to pass this now, but are getting a trap ready for Trump that they believe will be necessary at some point soon.
It is understandable that many Americans want Trump gone now, but Democrats are playing the long game, and preparing to take down this president when the opening arrives.
