Steve Bannon Will Campaign for Accused Sexual Predator Roy Moore

Former top Trump adviser Steve Bannon will be ignoring sexual assault allegations against Judge Roy Moore, currently running for senator of Alabama, and campaigning for him at a rally on December 5. Given that he did the same for Donald Trump, it’s not at all surprising.

“I look forward to standing with Judge Moore and all of the Alabama deplorables in the fight to elect him to the United States Senate and send shockwaves to the political and media elites,” Bannon said in an interview with CNN.

Moore’s deputy campaign manager said their camp was “extremely grateful” to have Bannon’s backing.

Moore has been accused of sexual assault and harassment by at least five women, with two claiming they were underage at the time the incidents took place.

Despite growing hesitation to endorse or support Moore among Republicans, Trump himself has refused to condemn the wannabe senator. “[Moore] denies it.” Trump told reporters last week. “Look, he denies it. If you look at all the things that have happened over the last 48 hours. He totally denies it. He says it didn’t happen. And look, you have to look at him also.”

Though he initially chose not to confirm whether or not he’d be joining Moore on the campaign trail, it appears that Trump will not stump for the judge before election day. “The President is not planning any trip to Alabama at this time,” White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said earlier this week. “Frankly, his schedule doesn’t permit him doing anything between now and Election Day.”

The rally in Fairhope, Alabama that Bannon will participate in will take place just one week before election day.
