Rep. Ruben Gallego (D-AZ) has read the Nunes memo, and he says that it is nothing more than a pretext for Trump to fire Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein.

Gallego tweeted:
The Nunes memo is a high stakes Republican scam. Trump is looking for a reason, any reason, to fire Rosenstein. Firing Rosenstein is unlikely to generate the sort of backlash and constitutional crisis that would follow if Trump fired Mueller.
Trump and the Republicans think that their con memo is going to change the narrative on the Russia scandal, but it is not. The memo is going to give the Trump flying monkeys in Congress something use to call for an end to the Russia investigation. Fox News and conservative media will get endless talking points, and Trump will try to kill the investigation.
The memo is a mechanism. The real story is escalating Trump effort to kill the Russia scandal, and those efforts aren’t going to end until the American people make them stop.
