Former Rep. Elizabeth Holtzman said on MSNBC that she thinks Republicans are trying to smear Robert Mueller and the FBI because devastating information is going to come out about Trump himself.

Holtzman said, “I think the Republicans are enabling trump, are participating in this effort to smear Mueller, smear the FBI, because ultimately what’s going to happen, I believe, is that devastating information is going to come out about Donald Trump himself, and so what’s the best defense, but to smear the FBI, to smear Mueller, to smear the investigation. And that’s what’s wrong because we’re talking about important institutions of this country.”

Republicans are already worried about what information is going to come out about Trump

An examination of the behavior of Republicans in Congress indicates that they know they are living on borrowed time. Republicans rushed through tax cuts, rushed through Obamacare repeal, and have been acting with urgency on all of their legislative priorities. Combined with the mass exodus of Republicans in the House, it is clear that they are expecting the hammer to fall at some point soon.

Republicans aren’t governing like a majority that plans on sticking around for long.
