The fundraising committee for House Democratic candidates set a fundraising record for February.
Roll Call reported, “The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised nearly $10.6 million in February…The DCCC raised $3.38 million from online donations in February, with an average online gift of $18. So far this cycle, the group has raised more than $50 million online, which includes 300,000 first-time online donors, and a total of $125 million this cycle. It ended February with $49 million in the bank.”

Democrats are setting candidate recruitment, turnout, and enthusiasm records, so when these factors are combined with money, the result is an ability to fund and support more candidates across the country. In theory, Democrats could spend $2 million on their top 24 targets to retake the House. The DCCC could also give $1 to their top 49 targets.
The point is that better fundraising means that Democrats can target more races and flip more seats.
Everything is falling into place for massive Blue Wave in November. Democrats will have the money to support candidates and get out the vote in critical districts. Republicans will have the dark money advantage, but the limits to what dark money can do were seen in Conor Lamb’s victory in Pennsylvania. The Republicans and their allies aren’t going to have enough money to defend and save every vulnerable House seat.
Money helps to get the message and the vote out, and record-setting fundraising for Democrats suggests that the Blue Wave could have everything that it needs for a gigantic November win.
