Mitch McConnell Joins The GOP Treason Parade By Refusing To Allow A Vote On Bill To Protect Mueller

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) told Fox News that he decides what legislation is on the Senate floor and that a bill to protect Robert Mueller will not be brought to the floor for a vote.

McConnell said, “That’s not necessary. There is no indication that Mueller is going to be I don’t think the president is going to do that. And just as a practical matter, even if we passed it, why would he sign it?”

Just for good measure, Sen. McConnell tantrumed, “I’m the one who decides what we take to the floor. That’s my responsibility as the majority leader and will not be having this on the floor of the Senate.”

The flaw in McConnell’s excuse is that it doesn’t matter if Trump would sign the bill if the legislation has a veto-proof majority. The Senate could also attach the protection for Mueller to legislation that Trump wants to sign or needs to sign. There are more ways that the one path that McConnell suggested to protect Mueller.

Mitch McConnell is up to his eyeballs in the Russia scandal. He refused to cooperate with Obama on a joint statement on Russian election interference during the 2016 presidential campaign. McConnell has taken the same treasonous position as Speaker of the House Paul Ryan. The Republican Congressional leadership has chosen to place protecting a corrupt president ahead of protecting the country.

McConnell’s comments are why the American people have to elect a Democratic Congress in November. If it is up to Ryan and McConnell, Trump can fire Mueller, and they will do nothing.
