Here is the letter that Blumenthal wrote to Judiciary Committee chairman Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC):
The key part of the letter:
Given the new report that Trump directed Cohen to lie and that his false testimony was prepared by the White House, Trump can’t silence his former lawyer. Even if Cohen was intimidated into not testifying, Congress now has the grounds to subpoena Cohen and compel him to appear before the committee.
The walls are closing in on Trump.
The president appears to be terrified of what Michael Cohen will tell Congress and the entire world when he testifies in public.
Michael Cohen has nothing to lose. He is already going to prison. Cohen is trying to rehab his image and save his family by coming clean in front of Congress.
Cohen now can’t be silenced, and Donald Trump’s presidency is living on borrowed time.
