The White House is admitting that they have no plan and no clue how they are going to end the government shutdown that Trump caused.

The Wall Street Journal reported:
The Senate this week is expected to vote on a border-security proposal put forward by President Trump that is unlikely to garner enough support to cross procedural hurdles, leaving no clear path forward as the partial government shutdown stretches into its fifth week.
The White House and Republican congressional leaders don’t appear to have crafted any contingency strategy if the president’s proposal fails a Senate vote.
“No idea,” one White House official said, asked about backup plans to end the shutdown. The White House didn’t respond to a request for comment.
The report was backed up by statements from White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley when he was asked if the White House has a contingency plan for what to do after Trump’s offer fails in the Senate.
Gidley said, “That’s a hypothetical. The president wants an open government and secure border. His plan does that. We hope to vote on it today. It looks like it won’t be until Thursday.”

The way out of the government shutdown remains the same as it was yesterday, last week, and last month. Trump needs to reopen the government. The money for the wall is not coming from Congress. No legislation that includes wall funding will pass Congress. The clueless president is trapped between his promise to “build the wall” and the wrath of the right wing of his own party if he does anything on immigration beyond the wall.
Trump needs to reopen the government without the wall then cut a deal with Congress on immigration. In other words, he needs to do exactly what the Democrats have offered. No wall money for ending the shutdown, but they can talk about border security that isn’t the wall.
Millions of Americans are being hurt economically, and the reason why is that Donald Trump has no idea what he is doing.
