Former US Attorney Chuck Rosenberg said that the Southern District of New York would not bend and give corrupt Trump what he wants.

Rosenberg said on MSNBC’s All In with Chris Hayes, “The men and women of the Southern District of New York (SDNY), the career prosecutors are not going to bend to the will of a corrupt president. That ain’t going to happen. So even if that was the president’s intent, he’s not going to get what he wants. He’s not going to get the career folks in the Southern District of New York to drop cases because he’s said pretty please.”

Trump is trying to kill the Michael Cohen investigation

Donald Trump has already been implicated in multiple felonies related the Michael Cohen payments of hush money to Stormy Daniels. It isn’t surprising that Trump is trying to abuse his power and kill investigations in the SDNY, because abuse of power to keep himself out of trouble was Trump’s gameplan from the moment that he took office. Trump and his administration hold the view that the president is above the law.

Trump thought that he could use the presidency to make all of his problems disappear. It was the plan of a simpleton who didn’t understand the limitations of presidential power or expect to lose the House to Democrats in 2018.

The Southern District of New York isn’t going to give Trump what he wants. Trump has few allies and virtually none that aren’t tainted or conflicted by his corruption. The SDNY is going to keep their investigations going, and Donald Trump is never going to be able to abuse the power of the presidency to make his troubles vanish.

The woes of Donald J. Trump are just beginning.
