Read About Ivanka Trump's Plotting To Return To The White House On THE DAILY
Since Donald Trump announced his candidacy for president almost four years ago, he has worked tirelessly to cast himself as a tough-talking symbol of masculinity.
He is loud and bombastic, spews obscenities, flaunts his ignorance and swaggers around like he’s God’s gift to the planet – and many of his supporters have bought into the image of himself that he’s painted.
But as New York Times columnist Michelle Goldberg said on Thursday, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi – in short order – has basically shattered this phony tough guy image once and for all.
“Everyone who watches this should be so ashamed, particularly the people who worship Donald Trump because they think he’s some sort of embodiment of manliness as opposed to this whiny simpering baby,” she said in a discussion with MSNBC’s Chris Matthews.

Goldberg said:
I think that it’s really wrong to treat this as if it’s just sort of two people throwing schoolyard insults. What you have is an unhinged president given to these — it was a temper tantrum. And then today, there was this increasingly embarrassing display of, ‘I’m not mad. She’s mad.’ It’s pathetic and then having him get all of his lackeys to affirm how not mad he was. I mean everyone who watches this should be so ashamed, particularly the people who worship Donald Trump because they think he’s some sort of embodiment of manliness as opposed to this whiny simpering baby. … [Nancy Pelosi] is far too gentle with Donald Trump. He does need intervention. The problem is that she is the person who is constitutionally mandated to perform this intervention. But the fact that he is unstable and unwell is just manifestly true.
There is no question that many of Trump’s supporters – particularly non-college educated white men – have bought into this phony image. Many of them wear their MAGA hats like some symbol of their manhood.
But it only takes a few moments of objective observation to see that there is nothing tough or stable about Trump. On Thursday, the world saw it again.
This is a guy who has always been a man-sized toddler, whether it’s social media tantrums, his inability to take criticism, his fear of people of different faiths and nationalities, or his schoolyard nicknames.
While the majority of the country has always seen through Donald Trump’s hollow tough-guy schtick, Nancy Pelosi has managed to thoroughly expose it in a way nobody else has been able to.
Whether or not you agree with her approach on impeachment, she deserves credit for that.
