I don’t fully understand why the date written on the outside of the envelope even matters. Isn’t the post mark the most important date?

Excuses to disenfranchise voters. If the "R's" could win on their own, they wouldn't need to cheat. But they can't. And when everyone truly gets a whiff of the crap in the Big Ugly Bill and how no tax on tips doesn't apply to "all" tips AND has a maximum cut off if your income hits a certain level. No taxes on Overtime has restrictions as well and all OT is not exempt from taxation. Car loan interest has several restrictions - and the whole idea of no tax on SS is BS. There is a benefit to Seniors, but NOT all Seniors will be eligible to use it.

There is an additional $500 child tax credit, which will help working families, but not that much. AND THE BIG REVEAL? All these tax breaks go away in 2028 while the richy rich get to keep all their tax breaks while WE ALL pay for it.

And that doesn't even include the 800 Billion dollars coming off of SNAP, Medicaid and Medicare - or the additional 500 Billion dollars coming off of Medicare under the PAYGO law that will kick in because the "R's" added 3.4 Trillion dollars to the existing deficit spending over the next 10 years.

To get the "skinny" on the Big Ugly Bill, if you haven't already, I have covered all of those topics and more in "Articles by Bluesmurf" - https://bluesmurf.substack.com/p/articles-by-bluesmurf

Scroll down through the headlines and find the ones on the Big Ugly Bill!

Any ruling that creates a better, easier way for people to vote is what I want. I don't understand anyone voting for anyone for any office that is against ALL people voting. With millions of votes cast there is a chance for error - lets make sure we side with the voter.

This is good news for the protection of our democracy and our voting rights. Every state needs to have this kind of voting protection!

"At a time when it can seem like democracy is under assault from all sides, victories are still happening, and wins like the one in Pennsylvania will ultimately serve as the building blocks to turn the current anti-democratic tide."

This is ABSOLUTELY true! We are winning more than we are losing. There is a lot of "hair on fire" reporting in the media, on YouTube, on Social Media, and written media. We have to try and get past the urge to run screaming from the room and realize that we can win this by staying together, speaking in one voice, by staying informed without the emotion, and taking action in the face of whatever is thrown our way. We can do this. We all need to be prepared - not scared.

For ways to empower your voice, join in the fight, make a difference, and help get out of this mess, take a look at this post: "Now What Do We Do? The Way Out Of This Mess!!!" - https://bluesmurf.substack.com/p/now-what-do-we-do-the-way-out-of

YEAH PENNSYLVANIA We had voting problems in Bucks County we are registered Democrats and we’re not allowed to vote because we had a address change six years prior there was never a problem to vote in any other election till this past election. So many folks were upset about it yet nothing ever gets done no matter how many times you call or protest your news really surprised us and it made our day Thanks

Pedo 47 is such a hypocrite bcuz he votes by mail. It’s been found when you vote in person it’s easier for foreign countries to interfere in our elections. I believe that’s why he’s going after mail-in ballots.

The UK's "postal vote" is similar - a ballot in one envelope, which goes inside a second one, alongside a declaration that this is your vote. But we only need to put our name, date of birth, and registered signature on the declaration; there's no way to misdate it unless you forget your birthday! We also have rules about "clear intent" - if you go slightly outside the boxes but it's clear and accurate, or you do something like use a smiley instead of an X for your candidate, your ballot will still probably be counted.

This is a good ruling. I specifically like that they consider that dating creates an impermissible burden. I frequently receive mail that has marks all over the envelope, which most likely happened while the postal service processed the mail piece.
