The pain of millions of Americans due to the Republican Obamacare subsidy cuts could end next year if Democrats win back the House as they plan to force an immediate showdown with Trump.
We do not want subsidies to the for-profit health care conglomerates who are robbing us blind and rationing our medical care. Obamacare was and is a scam, a gift to Wall Street disguised as a health care plan. Another example of public institutions being privatized for the good of the ruling class. About 10% of the population is in the Obamacare marketplaces and those plans are virtually worthless, with high deductibles and out-of-pocket maximums and a shrinking percentage of medical practices accepting AmBetter and the other subpar marketplace options. The only answer is a single payer health care system. Why exactly are we laundering our tax dollars through the government to pay 33% more for health care to make the billionaires richer while we get less access to care? https://barryjkaufmando.substack.com/p/the-american-health-care-system-is
The majority want this healthcare reform and the legislators, both Democrat and Republican are bought and paid for by corporate healthcare insurance companies. The only way to get this done is to organize to get new candidates and vote out the ones that don't get it done. It is up to us.
We want Medicare for 50+ year-olds as soon as Democrats get majority in House and Senate. Audit it after one year and expand to all. If the Democrats don't do it, we will primary them and vote for new candidates until they do it. We have had enough of this B.S It is time for change
As far as I can see the group that see themselves as independents needs to be won over to be democrats. This next election they will vote dems but this is a large group that can change if it wont ge tbetter
Adam Stoler is right that restoring ACA subsidies is a band-aid — and Jason is right that Democrats need to follow through on promises. But the deeper problem is that the promise keeps getting smaller.
Restoring subsidies helps the twenty million who lost them. It does nothing for the family earning $65,000 who is already paying $6,000-7,000 in employee premiums on top of their federal income tax burden. A subsidy restoration isn't relief for them — it's maintenance of an expensive, fragmented system that was already failing before Trump touched it.
Democrats need a promise big enough to actually win with — not just restore what was lost but structurally fix what was already broken. Zero federal income tax on the first $150K per filer, universal coverage replacing premiums entirely, corporations paying their actual rate with no loopholes. Both ends moving simultaneously.
single payer healthcare
now or never
this ‘plan’ is bullshit
Dems must win and repeal all the Trump/Supreme Court/Republican activity that has ruined our country.

Absolutely, single payer healthcare exists in almost every western nation except for the richest…for now.
Stop kicking the can down the road.
People are tired of the constant bullshit with insurance companies and their sole focus on profit and their imaginary expertise.
