What an idiot! If the bill isn’t any good then don’t vote for it. What kind of representation does the American people have? The state of Alaska is going to be one of the hardest hit and she’s hoping someone else will make a decision that she should’ve made herself?

She didn't run on the party ticket at her last election -- they wouldn't nominate her. She may be in trouble for the next. Or she may resign, like Thom Tillis did.

The tax implications for Alaska of letting that awful 2017 bill lapse aren't as bad as what this will do to Alaska, cut-out or not. I'm betting the House pulls it out of the final version.

Congress should address the issues of the 2017 tax bill separately. Putting everything into one "Big Beautiful Bill" is nothing more than theatrics to pacify the Orange Nightmare anyway.

The more the bill gets press, even on Fox, the more people hear about it, the better the odds that more Rs might get the balls to stop it. Roughly 2/3s of the country hates it. Including in R states.

These people want someone else to take responsibility so they do not have to be accountable - Too bad, Lisa, you picked the WRONG side of history to make your point!

This sickens me to the core! One lousy vote and she didn't have the guts to cast it. She let the others buy her vote with concessions that aren't going to save Alaskans from the catastrophe that is this bill. No backbone! 🤮🤮🤮

I am an Alaskan & am sock of her “moderate” label. She has pulled this voting stunt before - Sup Ct judges etc - and her reasoning this time is insane. SHE could have ended this. and forced a new more humane approach but she is clearly a coward. how dare she state she hopes the bill fails in the House. I am calling her office in disbelief. So revolted by her actions & “defense” today. And Repubs clapped & shouted w joy. They r terrified of Trump. our forefathers r weeping in their graves. CALL Congress every damn day & vote them all out in 2026 (if we still have a country…).
