This article is spot on! I for one, am pissed off! I am taking my time and money to postcard, protest, call and write legislators. The least they can do is resist with us!

Same here, Pam. I have to believe that the dems are doing SOMETHING behind the scenes to save the country. If not, where are they & what are they doing….just waiting for the courts’ rulings?

At least Bernie, (our most popular senator) and AOC are on the road trying to educate the hoi polloi.

Gov. Tim Walz is out there too!

[crazy idea] Real leaders don't need to be asked to step up.

Katherine's avatar

Not really, everyone needs a “kick start” once in awhile, we ourselves do at times!

I’m not sure you’re correct in assuming that the dems are doing “something behind the scenes to save the country”. Look at the dems’ actions - the 10 Democratic Senators that voted with Republicans to pass this disastrous continuing resolution. Something’s happening “behind the scenes” but it damn sure ain’t anything to do with saving America. Most tragically and treasonously. 😭

Hi Kelley. I don’t assume. I HAVE to believe, to help save my mental health. (Also putting positive energy out there) Postcards, rallying, phone calls and letters also help. At least it gives you a chance to scream loudly! And sign making is fun.

I hear ya, but you can’t discount that the Senate Democratic leader, Chuck Schumer, and 9 other Democratic Senators, just colluded with the Russo-Republicans to further Trump and Musk’s agenda. It’s enraging, to me, that they have acted against the majority of Democrats’ wishes. Unfortunately, living in Texas, I do not feel comfortable taking part in demonstrations, or otherwise displaying my dislike of what they are doing. It’s too risky, for potentially nothing gained at all. We, as a country, are really screwed since those in leadership positions are not standing up to Trump and Musk.

I agree. Schumer and the others are despicable. These are terrible times, and I have to hope that we will right the ship as this isn’t at all sustainable. Will enough MAGAs feel the pain and turn against Elon & Don ? What next? Ugh.

I, for one, am afraid the majority of the minority is singing from the old hymn book, and when they’re not singing…. they’re working feverishly to cover their butts, not fight back. It’s a foregone conclusion that the majority of them will be out in their next primary.

Jennifer Bean's avatar

I’m doing the same, but it’s time for them to stand up, speak out and fight back!

Calling people, c protesting my ass off. A child can do what they're doing.

This is a constitutional crises-it will be too late when they decide to act

!!!!!!!¡!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chris Patterson's avatar

Agreed- Those who voted for the CR need to go and the rest should be talking with the people who didn’t vote.

Linda Lehmann's avatar

Chuck and friends obviously did not hear the members cry out to vote no. For that reason alone they are dead to me and so is the Democratic Party until they get new leadership.

Jilld's avatar

We did everything but demand long our heads to tell Shumer and friends to vote NO. They aren't listening. The old guard needs to get out of the way. I fear it's too late.

Basta's avatar

And then, we’ll see. New leadership means Different leadership, not a different person not doing anything.

Democrats need to fight. Get counselling if you need to learn how.

Tualatai Mamoe's avatar

Democratic voters have to fight back. There is nothing on which we can compromise with Trump/Musk Republicans and still be true to our principles. Plus the fact Trump has lawlessly and violently abandoned democracy. It is not a fight just on principle, but to save the nation

The Senate needs a good dose of weed n feed. Throw out the losers and bring in the fighters.

I recommend that for the pres and his cabinet.

Actually all you need is weed killer.

Let’s hear your plan.

I was so upset when Schumer backed down. The only way to save our country is to fight the evil that is Trump and his cronies. Our leaders have to fight hard and make things miserable for the Republicans. There is so much at stake right now. The illegal acts of Elon Musk that no one is stopping is a big one. The turning our backs on our allies is another one. We are a world economy now and the United States cannot survive without them. The democratic leaders need to change their outlook and stop being nice. Treat the Republicans like they have treated us in the last 10 years. Fight for our survival and restore what is important to most Americans. MAGA is a small percentage but they are really loud and can tell lies very well.

I agree with the poll 💯

J Frost's avatar

Right! Just exactly WTF is wrong with you people, that you think any part of these monsters destroying our country and our democracy is ok?

Doug Dunkle's avatar

I want my Congressional representatives for fight and resist Trump and his spineless underlings on every damn point.

Connie Goes's avatar

I am both disgusted and frightened by the inaction of the Democratic leadership. Voted into office to represent the American Party but stand down afraid to fight for our Democracy. The voices of Jasmine Crocket, Tim Walz, AOC, and few others are not enough to push the Republican Party to put the Constitution and our freedom above Trump and the fools in Congress who

Who’s buying them off? Where’s the bribe money coming from?

Kate Madison's avatar

I have been ashamed to be an American ever since Trump was elected. Now, sadly, I am a bit ashamed to be a Democrat, although I am a proud progressive. It is not a mystery why the Democratic party has the reputation of being out-of-touch and spineless. Chuck Schumer is a good example: he if frozen in a pasttime and not aging thoughtfully. Time for him to go!

Scott Farmer's avatar

Schumer screwed up big time. You don’t stop a bully and his gang by giving in to them, you stand toe to toe and not give in. He gave them power they should not have.

Everyone must fight like Hell to save our Democracy from a vindictive revengeful narcissist who will destroy himself in his quest to retaliate against others. And his cabinet? 😣
