Ok, Johnson that’s not what he’s saying. He’s saying you can’t just sit back and do nothing but pray. I’m a Christian and praying is essential to our beliefs but action is also needed. You’ve been sitting back and praying for literally years. At some point your prayers need to lead to action. Believing in God isn’t like having a genie who grants your wishes while you sit back and do literally nothing.

Johnson was one of the assholes on the House floor who had a "prayer circle" with hypocrites like pastor-turned-Congressman Mark Harris before deciding to vote for the Big Awful Bill.

All these elected Rs can go F themselves.

Sadly, far too many Evangelicals seem to miss that part. So many have bought into the "Rapture" and "End Times" and spend hours/years picking apart obscure parts of the Bible that they miss the rather glaring parts where Jesus talks about taking care of their neighbors, regardless of who that neighbor is or where he lives. Even the Old Testament said it was the responsibility of the kings to care for all of their people, and predicted/promised "woe" to those who didn't.

I have never actually known god to do anything in response to prayer (or anything else) outside of the stories in the bible, and I know that book well, being an evangelical Xtian for 25 years and a non-believer for 15… and an agnostic before all that… I’m 75.

The percentage of the population (MAGAs) who approve of and support anything that the current lop-eared morons who run the U.S. government at the moment can plan on getting splattered with the following stains:

You are okay with all of your tax dollars going to the richest of the rich while you pay the bill.

You are okay with your tax dollars paying for fancy vacations for the rich who infest the government.

You are okay with the military taking over the cities, cities you do not live in.

You are okay with not knowing who these pedophiles are so they can continue to rape and molest our daughters and sons.

You are okay with child sex trafficking not only in our country, but around the world.

You are okay with wars where the aggressor is the victim and the people who are dying from the bombings every day are to blame – they should just knuckle under and be okay with the rest of this list.

You are okay with watching people starve to death and children die without food and healthcare.

You are okay with children being killed by guns in mass shootings while they are in school, at a party, at a club, in a church, in a church school.

You are okay with your neighbors dying from preventable conditions, issues, and diseases because they have no health insurance and cannot afford health care.

You are okay that it may be you without health care dying of preventable conditions, issues, and diseases because you have no health insurance and cannot afford health care.

You are okay with your child dying of a preventable disease because there is no vaccine available to you any longer.

You are okay with prices going up due to tariffs and inflation.

You are okay with empty shelves on stores.

You are okay with your government breaking laws and grifting and extorting money from you and other countries to line their own pockets.

You are okay with poisoned water, polluted air, and polluted grounds under you and your children.

You are okay with 5-10 recalls per month for food, drugs, and consumer products that are no longer safe.

You are okay with the government taking ownership of private companies where you work.

You are okay with your parents and grandparents moving in with you because there is no longer any social safety net.

You are okay with being forced to relocate to agricultural states to become field workers.

You are okay with no good-paying union jobs and that unions are being eliminated.

You are okay with working low wages with no benefits, no breaks, no time off, and in poor and unsafe working conditions.

You are okay if your children do not have the opportunity for a good education.

You are okay that only the rich, wealthy kids get to go to college while your children become 2nd and 3rd generation farm and field workers.

You are okay with everyone in this country is an evangelical Christian and goes to your church, believes what you believe, and lives like you tell them.

You are okay if you lose everything in a natural disaster, of becoming homeless because there is no way to rebuild, no disaster relief, no help in finding your lost loved ones.

You are okay that there is no more medical research to help find cures for diseases, new medications for illnesses, or new medical innovations to help people live better lives.

You are okay if the CDC lies to you.

You are okay if the government tells you what to eat, and that you are required to wear a tracking device to ensure you are following health and nutrition requirements from the government.

You are okay with being told who you are and what you can wear and what you can say, who you can love, and how you can act by your government.

You are okay if you are put in jail because you are homeless, do not believe what you were told to believe, do not eat what you are told to eat, wear what you are told to wear, do what you are told to do.

You are okay with disabled, elderly, and anyone else who is not white and male being hidden away, sent away, left to die, or otherwise disappear so you do not have to look at them.

You are okay with being told what bathroom you can use.

You are okay with being told people who do not look like you are scary, eat cats and dogs, and teachers in your children’s schools perform sex change surgeries on your children.

You are okay with being detained by the government without being told why, access to a lawyer, your family knowing where you are, your day in court, some way to gain your freedom.

You are okay with your guns being taken from you.

You are okay with all these things and more because you do not think your government will do them to you so you turn a blind eye or holler “YES!” when these things are done to someone besides you. But, and there is always a “but,” when the current government runs out of people to stain these things with, they will come after you next.

Newsom can also use this from the New Testament, James 2:14-20

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

I really do want to know,if Mike Johnson is that much of a Christian, that this concept just eluded him after all this time? That faith without works is dead?

So maybe he needs to throw some of those works into his alleged faith, and think about actually saving the lives of these kids.

Many seem to not know that the Letter of James exists. But they should know this: Jesus in Matthew 25 from verse 36 on is pretty clear who gets his reward and who gets punishment. And there's this: “Not every one who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you evildoers.’ (Mt 7:15–23)

I think the same thing when these fake Christianists go around loudly proclaiming their"faith",and I like how the King James version puts it,"Depart for me,you workers of iniquity,I never knew you..."They think they're beyond reproach, and have some "cosmic get out of jail free card"and they can do whatever they please to whomever they deem"unworthy".Maybe they should look deep in a mirror to find who's really unworthy.(I judge them based on Matthew 7,"A tree is known by the fruit it bears",in essence, being a"fruit inspector",if you will.)

In honesty,I'd rather hang out with atheists and agnostics, because most of them aren't trying to push their"religion"down one's throat, and figure it's okay to find your own way,in whatever way that fits you.I feel that we're all only human and shouldn't be so hard on people.

I have no issue with God,or Christ,or the Bible. It's these people trying to force it on everyone, and promote a false doctrine, that my problem lies with.I shudder to think some of these crazier ones might try to burn"heretics"at the stake,or worse,if we don't get this sorted out in time. Some of these people genuinely scare the hell out of me.

I freely admit that I'm a foul-mouthed sinner.I do my best to be kind and helpful tho,to"do what I can".It's the least we can do.
