Me too! One thing I do see is that the impacts of the Big Ugly Bill are coming out sooner than the MAGA GOP wanted. Insurance companies do not want to decrease their profits, so they are hiking premiums. Hospitals, labs, imaging, specialists, outpatient care and surgery, nursing homes, doctor's offices, clinics, urgent care and all the companies that work for them and supply them and maintain them are all making adjustments based on predictions from that Big Ugly Bill.
They all know that their budgets will be eviscerated, so they are cutting their losses before there are any losses and people everywhere are paying the price. Some people are just pivoting, saying "oh well" - and some don't know why these things are happening, they just adjust or drop insurance, or stop going to the doctor, or whatever.
Then there is the rest of us... We have to keep doing what we can to take back our country, support the DEMS in this shutdown to hold the line so we can reclaim our lives, the lives we had before January 20th, 2025...
I think he is a really good communicator and he seems to have fire in his belly. We need more strong young people like Congressman Frost in Congress.
You would think Republicans are doomed because they are sacrificing working people to enrich the wealthiest among us. However, we know who trump is. We know he and his cronies know how to lie to the people and make them think that they are working for them. We know the crooked deals they pull. We can not be complacent, ever!

While I agree with Mr. Frost, it also needs to be repeatedly pointed out that Congress has abdicated their constitutional powers to a distal.. it IS a constitutional crisis!!

I have a close friend who unfortunately always votes R, not because she's politically motivated by their policies (she doesn't even know their policies), but because her family always voted R. Last election I begged her to change her designation to D but she would not, insisting that she could v ote either way without changing her designation. Florida is a Closed Primary state. Try and get that to sink into the brain of someone not truly interested in civics, or what makes the government run. She's a great person in all other respects, but she's a real downer in matters like these.
So while Mr. Frost is a beacon of hope in these troubled times, I am well aware that my friend is not the only person who votes exactly as uninformed as she does. So while I am hopeful that this shut-down won't be a long one, and hopeful that the R's will come to their senses and do the right thing about American's healthcare situation, I have to admit that I am anxious to hear from my friend (and everyone who votes just like her) when she receives that letter telling her that her healthcare insurance is going up by 300% or more - much more, thanks to her vote for anyone with an R in front of their names.
