Sen. Chris Van Hollen has it absolutely correct.

I’ve always felt Martha Radditz was over rated and this exchange removes any question in my mind about whether she is a serious journalist or not. If she sees her role to keep the balance for the Fascists instead of reporting the obvious truth hoods, she is in the fab club and NOT a real journalist. 🤢

Martha R. can claim to be an impartial journalist. I can claim to be an astronaut on the ISS. But, - oh wait! Look at the Earth. It really is flat!

Shape up ABC and start getting truthful about the illegal moves Trump is and has been making. Stop supporting a fascist!

The MSM thinks that catering to Trump they will be empowered. That's not how fascism works. Instead, by not participating in protecting our democracy, they will lose everything. All they need to do is look at the press in Russia or North Korea. That is the future if they don't help stop Trump now.

Good for Van Hollen. It's a damn shame that the democrats have to school the mainstream press, who continually refuse to acknowledge trump's illegal activities as well as his obvious mental decline. I'm so disgusted by them.

There is a Home Rule Act of 1973 that is required for "running" DC and neither drumpf nor Congress has a say. It says, "Section 740 of the DC Home Rule Act, entitled "Emergency Control of Police" requires the mayor of DC to "provide, such services of the Metropolitan Police force as the President may deem necessary and appropriate" whenever the President of the United States determines that "special conditions of an emergency nature exist which require the use of the Metropolitan Police force for Federal purposes" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_of_Columbia_Home_Rule_Act - which means that the "Mayor" is to "provide" the services, not that the president and the AG take over the police department and shove the Mayor aside.

Attorney General Brian L. Schwalb has filed a lawsuit against drumpf and bondi for trying to take over the the DC police department. It is ongoing. In regard to the National Guard being called, that is a separate issue.

The senator is correct, but even he didn’t go far enough. This is another test run to see if Jabba can depend on the military to support him if he assumes dictatorship. ICE isn’t hiring enough fast enough to be his private military, so he’s testing how far he can go.

Will the Generals obey their oath to the Constitution or kow tow to Trump and the fascist Heritage Fund and mobilise against the American people?

I have no faith in the military. I haven't since Trump's first term, when the Navy covered up the USS McCain with tarps so he wouldn't see the name as he flew over in a helicopter. My dad was a WW II Navy veteran who stayed in the Naval Reserves until he aged out, even though he was a foreign service officer in the State Department. He would have been so ashamed.

Honestly, I don’t know. Every retired military member I know is very clear that there can be no kowtowing to the president. Every general I have heard of has also been clear on that, but then Kegseth has been undermining them or getting rid of them. I’m more concerned about young enlisted troops who don’t have enough experience to understand what is required and why.

Thank you Senator Van Hollen for educating the MSM. There was a day the MSM & the Fourth Estate spoke truth to power but now they challenge nothing. Grateful for Senators that educate the media on truth & why in a way that is understandable

We have to remember in addition to being world class liar Donny is always producing new episodes of presidential television show. His television show is designed around the premise of how much can I get the public to buy that is total BS to advance my fantasy delusion as president. Sad to say millions of willfully ignorant and gullible have bought most of the BS. The television show just keeps rolling along providing a a real world disservice to the public.

After a lifetime of being a news junkie, I swore off the mainstream media after Trump's 2016 campaign. I canceled our Washington Post and NYT subscriptions of 40+ years when they began controlling the editorial content and demonstrated that they would continue to validate Trump's insanity. That's not journalism, and it's an insult to the concept of the American free press.
