Trump constantly under estimates the intelligence of voters regardless of political party affiliation. He also under estimates Americans basic honesty and decency. People will eventually punish him severely for these constant insults.

He said he switched from Democratic Party to the Republican Party because republicans are stupid. His words, not mine. I don’t agree. I think any republican voting for trump, however, made a HUGE mistake.

Absolutely. Right now, however, eventually seems like a long road with no rest stops, no services, and it's 105 degrees out there and climbing.

Well, James Talarico raised over $1M in one day when he announced his Senate bid -- and he stridently opposed the gerrymander. He can probably harness the anger over Hot Wheels and TX legislature doing TACO's bidding while appealing to Texas voters of all persuasions.

It’s why it’s Wise that Beto O’Rourke run for Governor instead of Senator and Endorse Talarico.

O'Rourke ran against Hot Wheels and lost. We need someone who is not only a fighter, but someone who didn't make a "we're going to take your guns" comment that Abbott's campaign ran over and over again.

Trump says he wants to Take Guns from Trans people. If you STILL want to believe it’s a Good Right Wing talking point, then you’re the one that’s misdirected.

POS Abbott has his Trumpedo marching orders.

But Repugs are hot on States rights... so let's give them what they want.

Soft secession by the Blue States that pay all the bills in the country.

Let the welfare Red States croak and see how Trump deals with them.

Nobody know how to do a "secession" without a Civil War. Start with a Nationwide Work Strike.

I don’t believe it. We always hear that Texas is purple. Is it though?

I understand gerrymandering affects the House, but what about the Senate? That’s a general vote. And Texas has elected Cancun Cruz repeatedly.

I love James Talerico. Will Texas? Is he spiritual enough for the evangelicals?

Or is it because he’s committed the sin of being a democrat, he’ll fail?

If they really oppose the Republicans, vote them out.

I agree that the Republicans in Texas may have overplayed their hand. Voters are tired at being played.

I live in Texas (Tarrant County). And the Texas GOP here don't give a flying fuck what the residents/voters think.

I hope that this action by Abbott and his fellow Republicans backfires in their faces- on a grand scale! If enough Texans either flip ( I know that might be wishful thinking) or stay home, it could become a massive embarrassment for them. By the way- wouldn’t it be lovely to see Abbott voted out during his next election?

Your article points out how detached MAGA lawmakers are from their constituents. This detachment, IMO, is not accidental but intentional as they are all in ending democracy.

Finally some good news from Texas!!! i would personally like to thank all of the Texans that participated in the Gerrymandering survey. Especially open-minded Republicans. I would love to have this Trump-requested iniative bite him in the ass during the upcoming mid-terms.
