I am all for anything that stops The Traitor President.

Sally O’Brien's avatar

I agree with the courts but wonder what mechanism there is to get him to comply. Can he simply just disregard the judge’s orders?

Sarah Jones & Jason Easley's avatar

The mechanism is a government shutdown next month that brings his presidency to a screeching halt. All of these court rulings give the Democrats back up to shut it down.---Jason

And what happens when he grabs cash despite the shutdown? He has all the access through DOGE

Joan Flynn's avatar

I like that. It's worth the pain of a

shutdown if not long lasting.

Nancy Kanzenbach's avatar

Jason as much as I would love to believe you, I tend to look reality square in the face and it’s not pretty. I will do my part and more, but please be truthful to the believers!

Kathy Jesser's avatar

Sure seems like he can do anything he wants to do and people are harmed before the Judges can rule on it!

Joan Flynn's avatar

Even if there is a mechanism in play, he will probably try to disregard with appeal.

Fortunately there are some brave judges who will prevail at least temporarily.

Kathy Jesser's avatar

I don't think there is anything that can be done when he disregards the judge's orders except take it back to court but in the mean time it's the people that need help the most that are hurt!

Jan Richardson's avatar

I don't think it's going to matter what the judges decide because Trump and Musk are already laying the groundwork to ignore the judges rulings and the Constitution. We are basically living in North Korea where they can do anything they want because no one can or will stand up to them. Any country that gets rid of a law that makes it illegal to bribe a foreign government is telling you all you need to know about the type of people that run that government.

Sarah Jones & Jason Easley's avatar

I will repeat again. Stop focusing on the individual rulings. One court ruling will not stop this. What will stop it is a government shutdown. The court ruling give Democrats the legal back up to justify a shutdown next month. It doesn't matter if the administration ignores the rulings. The enforcement mechanism will come from Congressional Democrats. Look at the big picture of what is building against Trump.---Jason

We should be clear that it's the Republicans who are shutting down the government. The Democrats are refusing to enable the Republicans, who have majorities in the House and Senate and the White House. If they can't get some of their fellow republicans to support their budget, they come asking for help from the Democrats, who should just say no.

Alyce Catherman's avatar

Dems can shut it down by doing nothing to help. They have to unite and we have to try to get a few Republicans to grab their balls and take him on.

Debbi Innes's avatar

Arrest him

Sarah Jones & Jason Easley's avatar

Will never happen because he has immunity. Let's live in reality.---Jason

Carol Cummings's avatar

The president's immunity is for criminal acts. Most of these suits name other government officials and would be enforced by civil contempt proceedings against those officials.

Joanna McPherson's avatar

Good for the courts, now if we could only get the Congress and Supreme Court to do their jobs.

rbbarbba's avatar

Writing to John Roberts this minute. He should not be immune from hearing how a citizen reacts to how decisions of a 'partisan' SC have yielded a totalitarian president.

Kathy Jesser's avatar

Keep it up right through the rest of the 4 years! Why would a President stop money for research grants? He is about as evil as a person can be!

Victoria Pierce's avatar

And why would he take food away from hungry children?

Leah Baum's avatar

Cruelty has always been the point with felon 47 and his fascist Rs.

Kathy Jesser's avatar

Because he never had a day of struggle in his life!

Katherine Farrington's avatar

At least we have some recourse!! Next we need to impeach Trump and that will get rid of Musk and his Muskrats!!!

debra brown's avatar

Who will enforce them…Elon and J D Vance are promising to violate the court orders

Sarah Jones & Jason Easley's avatar

The mechanism will be a government shutdown. Look at these rulings in terms of the big picture of how Democrats will have justification to shut it all down and stop him. The court rulings are one piece of a bigger resistance.---Jason

Mary Wondra (WA)'s avatar

Sometimes hard to see that from where I am sitting. And a government shutdown has its own problems.

Jill Lowman's avatar

Elon and JD Traitor have no immunity. They can be charged with contempt and punished.

Cheryl Demmon's avatar

Thank God for the courts! But the question will these rulings be upheld by the Supreme Court? And will Trump abide by these rulings or will he defy them like Vance implied?

Mark Mansour's avatar

Agree on the shutdown. The Democrats have to blame him clearly and then lather, rinse, repeat, over and over.

Bill's avatar

Trump is really going to be the emperor with no clothes. He is a fake, who mastered a few well known persuasion techniques, which got him pretty far actually, but he lacks the iq to see ahead, and his ego makes him feel he is smarter than everyone else. That will be his fatal flaw.

Victoria Pierce's avatar

Who is enforcing it to make sure that that’s what is being done. I have my doubts that he’s going to comply.

Margaret Park's avatar

What process applies if they disregard the court decisions? Republican politicians seem unmoved to stop them. And they are hurting our citizens all ready.

Td van Gaalen's avatar

Why all the hassle of prosecuting and appealing? You can catch them red-handed and arrest them for their illegal actions. Why doesn't that happen?

Carol Henry's avatar

Administration will appeal all the way to the Supreme Court.

Stephen's avatar

Thank you to the courts for upholding the Constitution and the rule of law.
