The Pentagon doesn’t want this move. Infrastructure costs make the move illogical as the infrastructure already exists in Colorado. This move is pure politics, never a good ides when it comes to the military.

Addendum…re actual infrastructure costs…billions. And there’s this:

“Locating Headquarters U.S. Space Command in Colorado Springs ultimately ensures peak readiness in the space domain for our nation during a critical period. It will also enable the command to most effectively plan, execute and integrate military spacepower into multi-domain global operations in order to deter aggression and defend national interests.” — Pentagon press secretary Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder, July 31, 2023

Can you justify your comment, please? It’s an easy thing to say…shades of baseless opinion. On what basis do you make such an assertion?? I’ll take a look for you and get back to you with a reply. Ok?

Don’t know you and it sure looked like a trolling comment…kinda hate those. A comment like that in an environment like this where I assume most don’t know each other is probably not the best place for fake trolling. Just sayin’.

So your ID is from Magical Mystery Tour?

There shouldn’t even be a space force. Put it back in the Air Force.

It seems to me that TFG is not satisfied to leave ANYTHING alone! His vindictiveness toward any established decision from the past is fodder for his meddling. Moving this command away from Colorado is completely senseless. It’s bad enough that he came up with this whiz-bang idea in his last term, considering that this was a duplication of efforts back then. This nightmare cannot end soon enough to satisfy me!

If reporters had any guts, every single news meeting would consist of what about Epstein? What about Epstein? What about Epstein?

Want to talk about waste, and what will be more fraud? That would be exceeded only by the disappointment that he is still alive.

This is not a big announcement, or a necessary and logical one. Relocation costs for the military families alone will run into the thousands of dollars, and families with school-aged kids will be uprooted just at the whim of an old man whose ego needs another daily Biden derangement syndrome and revenge photo op.

Why is space command being moved to Alabama? Does that state have any rocky mountain high? Just wondering. Never been there. Love Colorado in spite of that boebert person. And furthermore, that's all it is. A big command performance to make money for something. Or for nothing which the old man is even if he has $$$. Still nothing.

Colorado is a blue state and Alabama is red. This will just increase the federal welfare payments to Alabama.

Actually, Colorado is a Purple state; because most of the rural counties and the area along the Wyoming state line remain leaning or strongly Republican. So, ripping good paying Federal jobs out of Colorado to move them to Alabama just seems like a good way to push more, at least borderline voters, to vote for the Democrats in the next two or three cycles; while gaining them nothing of importance politically in deep red Alabama. In other words, I'm all for it!
