The Democratic party made a terrible mistake backing Andrew Cuomo. They could not have picked worse had they tried. Obviously Mamdani's message resonated, and the establishment dems should not try to undermine him. His message should not be seen as out of the mainstream, and undermining him just plays into Trump's hands.
The DNC would be well to listen to the constituents who voted Mamdani in as their candidate. They should have listened to David Hogg as he was talking about the same types of things. But they did not... so people like David and Zohran and many more young Democrats are going to show the old farts who won't listen to them what the millennial generation is made of and I am all for it.
I have lived my 74 years in NYC and very happy he has emerged from the primary as the appropriate mayor for NYC. Haters will hate but that is incentive to counter that with facts about what will improve life for regular people. The M/Billionaires have redefined greed.
