Don't Miss Sarah Jones's Essay On Kristi Noem Titled Predatory Is The Point On The Daily.
While speaking to the media today, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) hinted that the Republican Party made him apologize to President Obama for calling him a liar. Wilson said, “Last night I heard from the leadership that they wanted me to contact the White House and state that my statements were inappropriate.” Wilson also continued to state that the bill covers illegal immigrants.
Here is the video:
Wilson said, “Last night I heard from the leadership that they wanted me to contact the White House and state that my statements were inappropriate. I did. I am very grateful that the White House in talking with them, they indicated that they appreciated the call, and that we need to have a civil discussion about the healthcare issues, and I certainly agree with that, so I am happy to discuss the healthcare issues, and in particular on the issue which I think is very important on whether the bills cover would include illegal aliens or not.”
He falsely continued to claim that the bill would include illegal aliens, “Also the Congressional resources services has indicated that indeed the bills that are before Congress would include illegal aliens, I think this is wrong. We need to be discussing issues specifically to help the American people, and that would not include illegal aliens.”
Rep. Wilson should know that the bill does not cover illegal aliens. H.R. 3200: Sec 246 states, “— NO FEDERAL PAYMENT FOR UNDOCUMENTED ALIENS Nothing in this subtitle shall allow Federal payments for affordability credits on behalf of individuals who are not lawfully present in the United States.” He is telling an obvious lie.
Republicans are now tapping into the anti-immigrant feelings in their party to try to derail the healthcare bill. It is as plain as the nose on your face that Wilson was forced to apologize by his party. He doesn’t mean it, and he really believes that this bill covers illegal immigrants. His apology was worthless.
