Here is the seven second clip from Breitbart:
That sounds bad, doesn’t it? Here is the full clip:
Reid said, “Unemployment compensation — today is a big day in America. Only 36,000 people lost their jobs today, which is really good. Unemployment rate around America has not changed. Prognosticators thought it would go up; it has not. So, we need to extend — there are about 15 million people in America out of work. These extended unemployment benefits will help millions of those people.”
Now that that has been corrected, you would think nobody would be deceitful enough to spread the lie.
Enter Glenn Beck:
Let’s face it. The Right is trying to take the attention off of Jim Bunning and their total dropping off the ball when it came to extending unemployment benefits by distorting the comments of Harry Reid. Everyone knows that the fact that 36,000 more people lost their jobs is not good news, but they are trying to sell the narrative that Democrats are out of touch with the pain that many Americans are feeling due to this recession, so if takes a few lies and some edited video to win more votes in December, why not? This is more proof that the Republican Party believes that they can fool the American people into putting them back into power.
