Watch John Boehner Make A Fool Of Himself Trying To Attack Obama’s SOTU

John Boehner made a fool of himself today by criticizing President Obama’s 2012 State Of The Union Address while the White House is still writing it.

Here’s the video:

Transcript from Fox News:

WALLACE: Big event Tuesday night, the State of the Union, we know some of the broad outlines of what the president is going to say at the State of the Union, let’s get through them.

More help for the middle class, such as aid for people going to college, or having problems financing their home, income inequality. He’ll demand that the wealthy pay more taxes and once again, he’ll propose a grand bargain to cut the deficit and avoid that $1.2 million in automatic triggers.

Do you see a compromise on any of those issues?

BOEHNER: You know, I read a lot about what the president is going to talk about Tuesday night. And it sounds to me like the same old policies that we’ve seen. More spending, higher taxes, more regulations — the same policies that haven’t helped our economy, they made it worse.

And if that’s what the president is going to talk about Tuesday night, I think it’s pathetic. I think it’s time for the president to listen to his own jobs council. It’s time to go in a new direction.

We need to end the regulatory nightmare that’s coming out of Washington serving as a wet blanket over our economy. We need to work to fundamentally change our tax code.

The most nonsensical part of Boehner’s attack is that he is criticizing something that the president hasn’t even finished writing yet. USA Today reported that President Obama is devoting much of this weekend to writing the State Of The Union. How can Boehner criticize something that isn’t even fully written yet?

All Fox News and Boehner had was Obama’s preview Tuesday’s State Of The Union Address:

The president said in his preview, “In a lot of ways, my address on Tuesday will be a bookend to what I said in Kansas last month about the central mission we have as a country, and my central focus as President. And that’s rebuilding an economy where hard work pays off and responsibility is rewarded — and an America where everybody gets a fair shot, everyone does their fair share, and everybody plays by the same set of rules…I talked in Osawatomie about – this is a make-or-break moment for the middle class and folks trying to work their way into the middle class. Because we can go in two directions. One is towards less opportunity and less fairness. Or we can fight for where I think we need to go: building an economy that works for everyone, not just a wealthy few.”

A two minute preview is all John Boehner needed in order to determine that President Obama’s State Of The Union address is pathetic.

John Boehner thinks that it pathetic that this president wants to help the middle class. He also apparently feels that hard work should not have to pay off, and that the economy should not work for everyone. Although, I am certain that what must have made Boehner’s stomach turn over the most is the idea that the wealthy should pay their fair share and play by the same rules as everyone else.

Throughout his appearance on Fox News Sunday, Speaker Boehner tried to blame Obama for the poor performance of the House, but by being so closed minded as to attack a State Of The Union address before it has been delivered, the Speaker unintentionally revealed the true source of the problem.

It is impossible for our political system to function if one side of the debate goes into every speech or issue with their minds already made up. The Republicans don’t have to hear President Obama’s address to know that it is pathetic.

What kind of fool thinks that it is good politics to be opposed to rewards for hard work and promoting fairness? Only an idiot could possibly be against building an economy that works for everyone, but here was John Boehner on Fox News doing exactly that.

Boehner thought that he would preemptively strike at the SOTU in order to steer attention away from the agenda that Obama will be setting, but Speaker Boehner’s criticisms made him look like a closed minded fool.

The Speaker’s comments may be beloved by the Obama hating right, but to the rest of America, Boehner was another Republican who looked out of touch and out of his mind.
